Aston Villa have confirmed that they are interested

Aston Villa have confirmed that they are interested in the signing of former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole, who appears to be free to leave Italian outfit Roma. Cole secured a high-profile move to Roma after deciding to leave Chelsea.

He was originally expected to join the MLS in order to enjoy some few years before retirement. The move to Roma, though, has not helped his career since he has been spending most of the time on the bench. Even though he is 35 years old,Cole does seem to think that he has time left at the top level.

One of the league strugglers, Villa have confirmed that they are looking to enhance the squad by bringing in the experiencedCole. The 35-year-old England international was once regarded as the best left back in the world alongside Roberto Carlos. He may have lost much of the strength, pace, and recovery time, but he will add immense amount of experience to the Villa team that is badly in need of help. Despite the change in manager, Villa slipped to the bottom of the table. Rémi Garde was brought in to replace Tim Sherwood, but it looks like he will have to salvage with some free transfers in January.

“Every good player is interesting for me and Ashley is a good player. He is someone who has experience but he didn’t play for a while now. Experience is also something we need. I will speak soon with the club and I’m already working on the January window. We know what we want to do,” said the Villa manager ahead of the game at Arsenal.

Villa badly need a victory since teams around them – like Newcastle and Bournemouth – have started picking up victories of late. Many Villa fans have supposedly started to give up on football, with many searching for Gala Bingo bonus codes to play that instead of watching the games! Villa are already several points behind Sunderland in the 19th place.
