COLE SCORES OWN GOAL TO HURT GALAXY

Ashley Cole scored an own goal that hurt his team LA Galaxy.

The former Three Lions star made a mistake that helped opponents Seattle Sounders to a 3-0 victory – Galaxy’s fifth defeat in seven games.

United States soccer star Clint Dempsey opened scoring before the half hour mark. Ashley Cole caused the tally to double six minutes later before Jordan Morris completed the rout just before the break.

Cole is a two-time Premier League champion with Arsenal. He was part of the Invincibles’ team led by Arsene Wenger. He is hated in London for crossing from the North London divide to Chelsea, despite the Gunners being his childhood dream and him a legend in the making. He is arguably the best England full back in history due to his fine blend of skills.

Cole was part of the Chelsea setup alongside Didier Drogba, PetrCech, Ricardo Carvalho, ArjenRobben and others that prevailed over everyone else to lift the Premier League in 2004/05. His transfer was shrouded with so much controversy that it remains one of the most divisive football transfers in Premier League history.

After a successful long spell at Stamford Bridge, Cole exited the Blues as he opted to end his career at the Major League Soccer in America. He has had a decent run in the league but he has never come close to his level whilst in England. Age and decline came faster and it seems his time is fast spent.

Galaxy would need to switch plans and tactics as soon as possible as they have sunk so badly in recent years. Only Colorado Rapids place below them in the Western Conference of the league. The Rapids crashed 1-0 to Minnesota United as Miguel Ibarra scored.
