Frank Lampard soon to be signed by New York City FC

The MLS side New York City FC wants to make a big splash in their inaugural season which kicks off in 2015 and this is why they decided on signing Frank Lampard as the English midfielder is an experienced player who even at the age of 36 still has a lot to offer.

New York City FC is part owned by Manchester City and the authorities of the Premier League are eager on signing a few more top European players to their MLS franchise as Frank Lampard is only the beginning.

As.Roma’s Ashley Cole is rumored to be a target of New York City FC as the English defender could be re-joining Frank Lampard and playing together once more after having performer alongside each other at Stamford Bridge in Chelsea.

After having spent over 5 years as a player of Chelsea, Ashley Cole joined the Italian side As.Roma a few months ago on July and his career in Italy has had its ups and downs.

When playing in their Champions League match against Bayern Munich, the German club ran past As.Roma and claimed an overwhelming 7-1 victory and Ashley Cole was considered to be the worst player on the pitch as the English defender was unable to keep up with Arjen Robben who managed to score twice as well as was able to provide an assist for his teammate Franck Ribery. It was a match to forget for As.Roma but especially for Ashley Cole as the defender even had to be substituted in the 2nd half of the match.

Ashley Cole has been able to make a few good performances with As.Roma in the Italian League, Serie A but it remains unsure as if the Italian club is interested in keeping him for the next 2 years which was what Cole signed when joining the team.
