After having won so many trophies in his career including the Champions League, the defender has been struggling for form in recent times. He has joined LA Galaxy in a difficult period of time, as the club has been unable to reclaim the former glory days.

LA Galaxy enjoyed a lot of success during the time of David Beckham and Bruce Arena, but new manager Curt Onalfo has been unable to bring the same kind of success to the club this season.

Even then, Ashley Cole is determined that the club will once again start to win major honours and he has stated that winning the MLS Cup will complete his career. There have been suggestions that the former Arsenal and Chelsea defender will be going into a career in punditry rather than management. After being injured in pre-season, Cole recently returned to the first-team action but his performances have not been good so far.

“This season is a new season and the ambition is still there to win something here. Still have got a long way to go, but that’s still in my mind. Whether I stay next year or this is my last year, who knows? I don’t think it’s completely past me because I’m 36 years of age. I don’t quite heal as quick as before. I feel good now. I had a good preseason under me. I wasn’t probably as fit as I normally am, but again that’s age,” said Cole.

When he left Chelsea in the summer of2014, the left back has already won the likes of the Premier league, Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, and League Cup.

He remains as one of the most successful left back’s in England. Yet, the manner of the exit was certainly surprising. Cole decided to take up the offer from Chelsea, as it meant that he would be earning £ 60,000 per week rather than £ 55,000 per week at Arsenal.

This led to his nickname as ‘Cashley’ amongst Arsenal supporters. However, the 35-year-old is having the last laugh after having won honours while he has seen Arsenal manage only two FA Cup medals since the 2003-04 season. The Champions League and the Europa League wins would mean a lot to the defender.

“I had a great time there and of course I miss the old players but I moved on and I won every trophy I could, so I wouldn’t say I look back and regret it, no.If I’m honest, yeah, I still laugh to myself to this day [about Arsenal’s misfortunes].I had a lot of history there and of course the way I left was maybe dodgy, but I think they showed me a lack of respect, too,” said Cole.
