Cole Urges Chelsea To Splash The Cash

Former Chelsea defensive star Ashley Cole has pleaded with his former club to sign a top striker in the summer transfer window if they want to stand any chance of fighting for the Premier League title next season, as well as other key trophies.

Chelsea have missed the presence of a strong and combative striker to lead the Blues’ attacking line and it is so evident in their inability to score enough goals that they need.

Thomas Tuchel has the likes of Timo Werner, Olivier Giroud, and Tammy Abraham to choose from as his main strikers, but none of those three frontmen has been very consistent for the club this season, raising doubts over their abilities, as well as raising suggestions that club owner Roman Abramovic would need to inject more cash into the club so they can once again head into the transfer window with a clear agenda of signing a top-rated striker.

According to Ashley Cole, Chelsea should go all out to ensure that they finish the summer transfer window with the signing of a great striker if they are ready to compete for titles ahead of next season. The former England international left-back also added that Tuchel should be looking for a younger option that is still hungry to score goals, and also said it would make a lot of sense if they could sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Haaland has been linked with a number of big clubs in Europe, and it comes as no surprise given the kind of season he is currently having. The former Salzburg attacker is currently leading the Dortmund line with aggressiveness and the sheer hunger of a prolific goal scorer and Cole believes that he would be an ideal addition to the Chelsea squad.

Cole Joins Terry In Hailing Mason Mount

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is currently one of the most talked-about players within and around the club as he continues to impress his new manager Thomas Tuchel both in training and on the pitch.

The brilliant young midfielder was recalled from his loan spell from Derby Country by former manager Frank Lampard and was given more than enough time to showcase his talents as he hardly missed any minute of Premier League action under Lampard.

A lot of fans criticized Lampard for his decision to keep playing Mount ahead of Kovacic who was presumably a better option in the Blues’ midfield, but Lampard turned dead ears to those thoughts and criticism as he stuck to his decision and kept playing the England international midfielder in his team.

As time went by, Mount began to improve his game and also started showing signs of what he is capable of and what could be expected of him by putting in some sublime performances at the heart of the Chelsea midfield, making fans forget that he is still young. Lampard lover Mount so much that fans and pundits began to call the young midfielder the ‘Teacher’s pet’. However, after proving that he is much more than just a teacher’s pet, he earned his status as a pivotal member of the Chelsea team and went on to become one of their best players in the process.

Under Thomas Tuchel, many believed Mount would no longer be a part of the starting lineup, but the reverse has been the case. Instead, he has blended well into the former Borussia Dortmund manager’s tactics and has continued to retain his position in the team.

Terry has since hailed Mount, as he posted a picture of himself and a young Mason at the Chelsea training ground together. Ashley Cole then added a comment on the post saying Mount is his favorite Chelsea player.
