Ashley Cole Looking Forward to Second Season with LA Galaxy

Even though LA Galaxy have lost a number of stars, it seems that the club will be retaining the services of one huge name in the business – Ashley Cole.


During the off-season, several changes have happened at the club with the likes of Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane leaving the MLS outfit. They have been crucial names in the first-team over the last couple of years. The club have brought in Curt Onalfo to lead the team into the new era. Even though several changes have taken place across the squad, Ashley Cole is expected to be the first choice in the defensive positions.

The former Chelsea left back was regarded as one of the best in the world during his peak. After a short spell with Roma where he did not get much first-team opportunities, Cole came to sunny LA in order to continue his career.

He featured for LA Galaxy been a remarkable 39 games last season, demonstrating the kind of stamina that made him a huge name in the business. Now, he starts the second full season with LA Galaxy despite being 36 years old.Cole is looking forward to another season in the MLS. Due to the expansion of the league, more competition will be arriving to the former MLS champions.

Ashley Cole has a contract with the club until the end of 2017.“I’m not the person to be shouting in the changing room. On the pitch, I’ll demand, but in the changing room, it’s not my kind of character. I wanted to come back and to give the youngsters some help if they needed it. I wanted to come back and enjoy the football. Last season I enjoyed and hopefully, it’s the same this season.When you’re enjoying something then you’re enthusiastic and enjoying it more. It’s great weather and that helps the motivation and is better for the head,” said Ashley Cole.
