Christian Pulisic expecting good things with Chelsea this season

Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic is expecting good things with Chelsea this season despite the Blues starting the season on a disappointing note. The west London giants have begun their campaign with defeats against Manchester United and Liverpool but their performances were contrasting in both of those games.

The Blues suffered a disappointing 4-0 loss to United in the Premier League opener but they managed to make up for the same with a strong performance against Liverpool in the European Super Cup. Frank Lampard’s side played out a 2-2 draw against the Reds up to added extra-time but they could not pull off the victory after suffering a penalty shoot-out loss.

Shortly after that game, Pulisic said that he has been enjoying the work under manager Frank Lampard and it won’t be long before the Blues pick up the desired results, he told: “It’s been great working with [Lampard]. We’ve learned a lot so far and I think you can see the team forming. We have a lot of great players which makes it easier.

“We’re on a good path. I felt great. To be out there with these guys… they are easy to play with. “I’m happy that I can get some more minutes in and move forward with this team. I’m going to go in and give my best from the start. I want to make an impact and help whatever way I can. However long that takes, it takes but I want to make an immediate impact.”

Pulisic could not make much of a difference from the bench against the Red Devils last weekend, but he managed to redeem himself against the Reds where he provided the assist for Olivier Giroud’s goal. Other than that, he also found the net with an attempt of his own but the goal was chalked off after a marginal offside decision through the VAR. Chelsea’s next game comes against Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend.
