Ex-England international star Ashley Cole has been named as one of the greatest players in the history of reigning FA Cup champions Arsenal. Ashley Cole enjoyed an illustrious football career for the Three Lions as well as his various clubs.


The 39-year-old played for English clubs like Derby County, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Chelsea. The left-back also featured for AS Roma in the Italian Serie A andMajor League Soccer (MLS) outfit Los Angeles Galaxy (LA Galaxy).Ashley Cole made 107 caps for the England national team during his 13-year international career.

Ashley Cole was handed his international debut against Albania by Swedish coach Sven-Goran Eriksson in 2001. He featured for Englandat three FIFA World Cup tournaments. The Arsenal Academy graduate represented the Three Lions at the 2002 FIFA World Cup tournament in Japan and South Korea, the 2006 FIFA World Cup tournament in the European nation of Germany as well as the 2010 FIFA World Cup in the South American country of Brazil.

In addition, Cole was also part of the England squad to the 2004 European Championship in Portugal and he was one of the Three Lions quartet in the all-star squad for the tournament. He was a member of the England squad to the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine as well.

The left-back started out as a striker before he transformed into a very good attacking left-back. The loan move to fellow London team Crystal Palace in 2000 enhanced his reputation and he returned to Arsenal to take the first-choice shirt in the left-back position. He won two league titles at the club.
