There are 25 nominees who have been shortlisted for the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2022. The six players with the most combined votes from the fans and a Premier League Awards panel will enter the Hall of Fame. Fans had their say by voting up until 21:00 BST on Sunday 3 April.


WENGER ADMITS SELLING ASHLEY COLE WAS A MISTAKE

A player that graduated through the Gunners’ famed academy system left for Chelsea in 2006 after being unable to agree a new contract. Arsene Wenger bought and sold many world-class players during his 22-year reign as Arsenal manager, but the Frenchman admits that losing Ashley Cole to Chelsea is his biggest regret as the Gunners made a rare “mistake” in the transfer market.

Everton forward Alex Iwobi has opened up on what his club's assistant manager Ashley Cole said adyrr their match against League leaders Manchester City. The game was not a favorable one for Everton as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Pep Guardiola's men despite their resilience. LAMPARD WELCOMES FORMER TEAMMATE AS BACKROOM STAFF

Former teannates at Chelsea, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, have both reunited at Everton as they aim to help the Merseyside outfit out of their current problems. This comes after Cole agreed to link with Lampard after he was hired as Everton manager on Monday and moved quickly to take Cole with him to Goodison Park. Cole and Lampard were team-mates at Chelsea from 2006 to 2014, winning a host of trophies including the Premier League and Champions League. The 41-year-old former left-back also played under Lampard at second-tier Derby before retiring in 2019. Cole's new role will not impact his duties with England Under-21s, where he is the assistant to head coach Lee Carsley.


ASHLEY COLE SENDS CHELSEA’S PLEA

The Chelsea legend has asked Chelsea’s Coach Thomas Tuchel to do all he can to make sure that German international Antonio Rudiger does not leave the club at the end of his current contract in the summer.

Rudiger who has been at Chelsea since 2017, has become a key figure in Tuchel’s Chelsea but contract issues have complicated any attempt to see the menacing defender stay at the Bridge beyond this summer. Rudiger loves his time in England, and truly appreciates the club but he wants a wage that matches hiscurrent status at Chelsea.


ARSENAL DEBUT EXPERIENCE IS PRICELESS - HOYTE

Former Arsenal and Middlebrough defender Justin Hoyte has revealed that the experience of making his debut for the Gunners is priceless and that the memory will stay with him forever. Hoyte is a boyhood Arsenal fan and he was delighted to play his first game for the club as a substitute for Jermaine Pennant in the second half of the Southampton game in the Premier League towards the end of the 2002/03 season. The Trinidad and Tobago international came on in the 89th minute of the game which ended in a 6-1 win for Arsenal.


WENGER, A MANAGERIAL INFLUENCE FOR COLE

Englishman Ashley Cole has named Arsene Wenger as one of his managerial influences as he begins his career in management. In a recent interview made by Ashley Cole and quoted by Sun Sports, the Ex-England international left-back detailed how Wenger supported him at the start of his career as a professional footballer. According to him, Wenger trusted the process as he believed that the fullback was destined for greatness.


SHAW REVEALS HIS TWO FOOTBALL IDOLS

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has mentioned Ashley Cole and David Beckham as his football idols. He made this known in his recent interview monitored by English publication Metro. According to him, he would have played alongside Ashley Cole and Manchester United legend Beckham.

Cole is widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in the history of the England national team and he won the Premier League title with both Arsenal and Chelsea. For Beckham, the Inter Miami co-owner spent eleven (11) years at Manchester United, winning six Premier League titles. He's seventh on the all-time list of Premier League assists with a return of 80 in 265 matches.


THIAGO SILVA EMULATES COLE, LAMPARD, OTHERS

Veteran Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has joined other Chelsea legends such as Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard, Petr Cech and others in winning at least 100 caps for their respective countries. The ex-AC Milan and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) centre back made appearance no. 100 for the Selecao as a substitute against Colombia earlier this month.

Ashley Cole has expressed his happiness with the start that Romelu Lukaku has made to his Chelsea career on the back of big move this summer.
